Verwendung
Dieses Testkit wird zur Identifizierung von Edelstahl 303 verwendet. Sie können einfach und schnell testen, ob Ihr Edelstahl (SS) Typ 303 oder Typ 304 ist. Wenn Ihr Edelstahl vom Typ 303 ist, zeigt der Test eine deutliche schwarze Verfärbung an. Diese Verfärbung wird durch das Vorhandensein von Schwefel im rostfreien Stahl 303 verursacht. Bei 304 (oder 316) bleibt der Test weiß, da er keinen Schwefel enthält.
Nachweis von Schwefel
Dieser Test kann auch für andere Metallarten zum Nachweis von Schwefel verwendet werden.
Unterschied zwischen RVS 303 und RVS 304
Edelstahl 303 ist durch den Zusatz des Elements Schwefel sehr gut für die Bearbeitung geeignet. Allerdings wirkt sich Schwefel nachteilig auf die Umformbarkeit, Schweißbarkeit und Korrosionsbeständigkeit aus. RVS 304 (und 316) enthält keinen Schwefel. Daher hat RVS 304 eine gute Korrosionsbeständigkeit und ist leicht zu schweißen. Im Gegensatz zum nichtrostenden Stahl 303 ist RVS 304 schwer zu zerspanen.
