This professional test kit enables safe, fast, and reliable macroscopic etching of aluminium weld cross‑sections for inspection. It allows accurate assessment of weld depth and overall seam quality. The kit is suitable for use with various aluminium types.
With this test kit you can make about 100 macro etchings from aluminum welds.
In addition to etching fluid, the kit also includes sandpaper, safety gloves, and etching fluid applicators.
General use of the test kit
The welded joint must be first cut. Then the weld seam must be grinded flat by hand with the provided sandpaper. Afterwards the weld can be etched with the provided etching liquid. The weld seam can then be visually inspected. The weld will be colored blue, and in some cases grey.
